Comparing Jetpack to other wordpress stat tools shows me, that Jetpack gives a significant lower value for pageviews than others.

I want to get most realistic data and so i’m asking me how Jetpack exactly counts a view? Which conditions musst be given?

BTW: Ich would be a great feature to be able to search the Jetpack Support forum. I don’t want to check more than 300 pages to check if this question is already answered.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack records visits thanks to a tracking pixel that is indeed to every page on your site.

Here are the conditions when Jetpack does not record stats:

    • Visits to uploaded documents and files
    • Visits from browsers that do not execute javascript or load images
    • GoogleBot and other search engine spiders
    • Visits you make to your own publicly available blog (when logged in to your account)
    • Visits by users that are logged in, and listed as admins on the blog

    I hope this helps.

In fact, this does help a little.

But how is counted a visit of a human?
    I want to understand that.

Jetpack uses a tracking pixel to count views. That’s how most analytics services work today. You can read more about it here:

I hope this clarifies things a bit.
