    Hello, i have a presale question please, in case I have a multisite installation with my main domain name: main.com and multi domain installations in this multisite, I have:
    main site: main.com
    site 1: site1.com
    site 2: site2.com
    My multisite configuration allows me to point domains to their respective names.
    When I am going to duplicate this multisite from one server to another server how all these urls will be handled by duplicator pro if the domain names change:
    main site: main.com -> newmain.com
    site 1: site1.com -> newsite1.com
    site 2: site2.com -> newsite2.com
    I do not quite understand how duplicator handles this, will I have to make special cations? I thank you for these clarifications. Have a good day.

  • Hey @akkaza,

    When moving the full MU site the Pro version will handle updating all the URLs for the main site and its sub-sites.

    Hope that helps~

    Thank you for your answer, agree for the main since the operation is done on the new main site: newmain.com, so I think that duplicator retrieves this url, but for sub sites how duplicator know it new addresses newsite1. com and newsite2.com?

    I see what you mean…

    We are currently adding new support that allows one to cater to the subsite however you want. The plugin will make educated suggestions but the user has full control over that in the end (still about a month out).

    Also, we support subsite that uses full domains if you have set this up using core WordPress and are not using a plugin to do this. That functionality was put into WordPress starting with version 4.5.

    Thank you, indeed it is more useful to use a plugin as mu domain mapping, since wordpress everything is done very well and works perfectly.
    To come back to my question, I think that with the current version my solution will migrate my multisite then go to the sub sites and manually edit the url from wordpress, save in permalink settings and I hope that the entries the database will be updated correctly … otherwise it may be hell … I did a test locally creating the same domain name for the main and voluntarily different for others , imported the database, manually transferred the files and edited config.php, manually change the urls and it seems to work … thanks for your answers

    No Problem, thanks for providing your findings…
