    Because I don’t think it’s needed. The accessibility toolbar is disabled by default in WP Accessibility because it should only ever be used if your website has accessibility issues that cannot be overcome in other ways – such as significant color contrast issues or very small fonts. Otherwise, it shouldn’t be necessary or desirable.

    The theme on my own website is custom, and has developed organically for the last 10 years.

    Thanks for your reply. That makes sense.

    I’m really making an effort to learn about accessibility as I designed, maintain, and host about 60 WordPress websites. To this point accessibility has not been a focus at all for me, but I’m changing that as fast as I can.

    If I wanted a simple go-to theme that’s accessibility-ready, would your Milky Way theme be a good choice? If not, do you have a recommendation?
