Question about Yoast

    Hi. Two quick questions:
    1. After converting the Yoast SEO data with SEO data transporter to SEO framework, where is it saved in the WordPress database? I checked two available Yoast tables and they are empty.
    2. I have numerous occurrences of Yoast in my wp_postmeta table. Is it safe to delete these entries after the conversion (and any other occurrence of Yoast) or should I leave the data intact for SEO Framework?

    Hello, and welcome on board!

    The post metadata are stored in the default Post Meta-table: wp_postmeta
    Currently, under these chaotically prefixed keys:

    _genesis_title
_tsf_title_no_blogname
_genesis_description
_genesis_canonical_uri
redirect
_social_image_url
_social_image_id
_genesis_noindex
_genesis_nofollow
_genesis_noarchive
exclude_local_search
exclude_from_archive
_open_graph_title
_open_graph_description
_twitter_title
_twitter_description

    In version 3.5 or later, these will all fall under tsf_postmeta, or something equivalent. I still have to test how to migrate these faultlessly and seamlessly–if at all (i.e., maintaining the old system for old data).

    And yes, it is safe to delete old metadata; The SEO Framework doesn’t use those. However, I doubt databases get too big too quickly under normal (i.e., anything but news networks) circumstances; so you probably won’t see any benefit in removing the old metadata.

    Moreover, be mindful of the duplicated entity keys, because I wasn’t when introducing them.

    Aha. I was wondering where those genesis entries were from coz I have never used the Genesis framework. Now I know. Thanks
