• Happy New Year! When I first installed BruteProtect in one WordPress installation, I had initially enabled the remote system monitoring features. On second thought, I decided to disable them since I really didn’t need those features. So, the remote monitoring features have been disabled for the majority of time BruteProtect has been installed, which is since December 20, 2014.

This morning, I looked at the HTML source for one of the blog pages and noticed a DIV with ID “bruteprotect_uptime_check_string”. Why is this DIV still appearing, if the remote monitoring features are now disabled?

    Thanks!

In version 2.3.1 we decided to output that string even if you’ve opted out of remote monitoring. We did this to solve some cases where folks who opted out continued to get downtime notifications.

In an upcoming version, we will be removing the output altogether.

    Thanks
