Does “unique titles only” weed out duplicate titles that appear in a single feed source or in the whole wprss aggregated feed?

The situation I have is that I have 2 separate RSS feed sources for the same blog but for different blog tags. If a blog post is tagged for both tags then it duplicates in the wprss aggregated feed.

Does “unique titles only” help me or not? If not, is there another way to de-duplicate items in the aggregated feed?

  • Hi there,
You can specify whether you want titles to be checked globally or only within a feed source. In your case, you’d go into the General tab on the RSS Aggregator Settings page, and check Unique Titles Only in there. You’d then ignore the similarly-titled checkbox on the Feed Source pages.

That will check to make sure that no other item (or post if using Feed to Post) exists on your WP install before adding a new item.
