Question about the sitemaps
-
Hi,
I would like to submit the sitemap of my website to Google and I have some questions:
1) I also have the Jetpack plugin installed on my website and it also creates sitemaps automatically: https://wwww.mywebsite.com/sitemap.xml.
Should I disable this function of Jetpack or can I leave it on?2) I would like to send the sitemap created by Yoast to Google. I have seen that the sitemap in here: https://www.mywebsite.com/sitemap_index.xml. And on this page there are 8 different .xml URL’s (https://www.mywebsite.com/post-sitemap.xml, etc).
What should I put into the Google Search Console? Only “https://www.mywebsite.com/sitemap_index.xml” or the 8 URL’s that I found on that page?3) I have a website in 3 languages (and the website is translated with the WPML plugin) (https://www.mywebsite.com, https://www.mywebsite.com/nl/, https://www.mywebsite.com/en/). Should I send just one sitemap and Google is going to understand that the website is in 3 different languages or should I send 3 different sitemaps for the 3 languages?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
