Question about Subscribe2

  • I know little about codes, plugins except how to install and use them. We use to have Subscribe2 on our website until it stopped working and was not being updated. I remember getting a warning saying it may have been abandoned, so I removed it from our site and am now using another one which is not the greatest.

    My question is that I see the plugin was recently updated, so is this the same plugin or a different Subscribe2 plugin?

    It’s the same old Subscribe2 that you used before only updated with fixes, and enhancements. ??

    Thank you for the reply. The Subscribe2 that I had before was installed and set up by a web designer, who has disappeared. Is it easy to set up by someone like me who isn’t proficient in this kind of stuff, and can I explore and set the settings without having to activate it first? Last but not least, I assume I can export my current subscriber list somehow and import it somehow into Subscribe2? I am just not happy with what we have on our nonprofit site but I don’t want to screw things up.

    The plugin has to be activated to access the Settings and it is pretty straightforward with a lot of things configured ready to go without much amendment needed unless you really want to delve.

    While you are setting it up, if you are not quite ready to use it you can always deactivate it and return to it later by reactivating.

    I quite understand you don’t want to screw things up but you either need to have a go yourself or be willing to pay someone else to do it for you (and hope they don’t disappear again – bearing in mind a one off payment doesn’t mean they are available to you forever).
