Question about SSL conversion

  • Hi all-
    I’m considering converting my site to SSL and am tech-ignorant enough I want to ask about any problems or drawbacks with the plan.

    I’ve found an older post (2 years ago) that suggested both a plugin for the conversion and also shared some code for the header of my page. I think based on what I read that both methods save me from having to try and change all the URLs by hand, or alternately the two solutions imply that because of WP’s design I can’t recode the URLs by hand…

    Is this right? Has anything changed in the last two years with regards to this?

    Are there ever technical execution problems created by using SSL on a WP site? I am hoping to shift my entire career / income to the site so if SSL stands the potential to cause problems I’d rather find another solution and stay with my https://

    Is SSL ever a concern with certain themes? I’m using OptimizePress… should I also contact their tech support to ask about potential conflicts or does anyone reading this also use OP2 with SSL?
