Question about Metadata

Hi all,

I’m creating a website which will display artworks. Each piece will have it’s own blog post, and will include a single image. I need to add the following info to each Post:
? Title
? Year
? Medium
? Dimensions
? Gallery Reference “Stock Code”)

I could simply add a caption, but is there a more elegant, SEO / Schema.org way of attaching such data to a Post? What is the best practice here?

Also, I’ve never quite understood ‘custom fields’. Is this a case where one might use custom fields to attach specific meta to a post?
