I’m using IP Location Block .
It is the best plugin that I am very satisfied with.

Because I do not serve all countries
I use IP Location Block to allow access only from certain countries.
In the case of the server plan I use, it is really useful because the cost for overseas access is expensive.

But recently, a problem has occurred because of the bot.
A specific bot connects too often and causes traffic.
But the problem is that the bot is using the whitelist IP of the country I need to allow access.

Can I block the bot using UA string and qualification?

This is asking the question because of the bot’s check and country ip priority.

If the country is allowed on the whitelist has a higher priority, the bot will not be blocked.
If the blocking of the bot is a higher priority, the bot will be blocked.

Is it possible to block whitelist ip using UA string and qualification?

Do you know the bot UA string?

If so, you can do that for sure.

Please check this similar post here.

Also our article on qa string blocking

Let me know if you still have the problem, but please also provide the UA string if you have difficulties making a rule, i will try to setup an example.

    Thank you for your response.

First, google, bing is in demand

The answer to this was great.

    Googlebot:HOST=google,bingbot/2.0:HOST=msnbot

In addition, it is required allowed for Yeti (a bot on naver.com).

The name of the bot that blocks access is Zum (bot from zum.com).

I want to allow Only google, bing , yeti
and deny any other bot (Zum, Mj12, petal, Ahrefbot, Twitter, archive … Other All bot)

If I set it like below, will it work properly?

    Googlebot:HOST=google,bingbot/2.0:HOST=msnbot
    Yeti:HOST=naver
    Zum#*
MJ12#*,MJ12bot#*,PetalBot#*,petal#*,AhrefsBot#* (very very bad bot for me)

    (Yeti is support reverse dns)
    https://searchadvisor.naver.com/guide/seo-basic-firewall

    $ host 125.209.235.169
    169.235.209.125.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer crawl.125-209-235-169.web.naver.com.

    $ host crawl.125-209-235-169.web.naver.com
    crawl.125-209-235-169.web.naver.com has address 125.209.235.169

    Hey @youaresam2 ,

Sorry – i am late on this.

The correct rule for your use would be:

    Googlebot:HOST=google,bingbot/2.0:HOST=msnbot,Yeti/1.1:HOST=naver

(I didn’t tested but it should work)
