    Hi Ipstenu,

Used your great plugin for a long time, but recently i had to reinstall my multisite. My problem is that now i can not get it function the way i want.

I have WP3.9.1 multisite in subdirectories setup: mydomain.com/site1 is public. mydomain.com/site2 is a closed network for a smaller group of people. All i want is to let logged in users of site2 registered automatically even on site1 upon their first visit. But prevent logged in users of site1 to be automatically registered on site2.

On the Network admin-panel user registration is enabled, JMM 1.7.4 is network activated.
On site1 under users->JMM -> Membership is set to automatic.
On site2 under users->JMM -> Membership is set to none.
Deactivated all the other plugins and use a WP default theme, do not succeed.

As far as i remember the same settings have done the job right before, and am confused now.

Can you please help me what settings should i use?

Is registration on the NETWORK active?

Also did you set a user role for the new users of site 1?

Yes, registration on the network is enabled.

Yes, on site1 -> Users -> Join My Multisite -> New User Default Role: is set for subscriber. Or should i set it somewhere else?

No, that’s correct. Please make sure you’re testing with all other plugins off. Also try using the default theme for that site.

Double checked, no other plugins active, use twentyfourteen on both sites, still not get the expected result.

Now i made a clean WPMU install on localhost using the latest WAMP. The only plugin ever activated is JMM. Theme is twentyfourteen. On localhost it is behaving as expected. That means i will now reinstall again WP at my host. Hope it helps.

    Thanks for the help!
