Querying Jetpack stats

I would like to have a plain text widget to display the total number of visitors to my site in the sidebar. I can’t find any way of placing a query in order to get the number. Worse, I’m new to all this so have no idea if I am expressing myself correctly.
Essentially, what I want to be able to do is have this as a text widget:

The total number of visitors to this site is [put something in here to call up the number] because no one likes me very much
***
(or something).
I suspect it doesn’t make any difference, but should you need it my site URL is https://www.petemarchetto.com. Should you visit it, you will find a site counter already there, but I was using SlimStat which I have since uninstalled, its figures not agreeing with those from Jetpack anyway.
