Query regarding internationalization

  • Hello,

    Just installed latest version of WordPress (5.6). Does this latest version supports Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) and Emails.

    Example email ID : 测试5@普遍接受-测试.世界

    Example domain name : 普遍接受-测试.世界

    Any information on that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    There is no direct IDN support yet.
    You still have to use punycodes

    like:
    Domain Name: xn—-f38am99bqvcixn0u6bcwi.xn--rhqv96g
    Internationalized Domain Name: 普遍接受-測試.世界

    maybe something like this, but i’m not sure if its providing support for IDN to plugins. It will be better if you ask support of plugins which you are using about IDN support, maybe it is already supported, maybe they can implement it in future releases.
