Query date field and compare to server date

I have a series of pages listed and ordered on the basis of a cfs date field.

I need to do a comparison of that date to the actual date (of the server) and then have the pages “expire” from the list once the date of the custom field passes.

Example:

Page 1 – 1/1/2013
Page 2 – 1/1/2014
Page 3 – 1/1/2015

As of today’s date, Page 1 and Page 2 should be expired and no longer listed.

Any help you can give would be helpful.
