Quaterly archives?

My list of archives is getting quite long. In order to use the space on the page better I would like to get them by quarter or even half year. So, when you click on the archive link you should get all the months within that quarter or half year. Is this possible? I checked wp_archives in the wiki but that did not help me. Thanks for you help!
