• I’m helping someone set up a web site and I think WordPress would be a good choice.

Does anyone have any suggestions for hosts that provide managed WordPress hosting in the UK? By ‘managed’ I mean that the host must actually support and update the installation of WP as neccessary (e.g. if a security update is released), not just provide a installation script.

The host should be prepared to do paper invoicing too, but it might be possible to work around that.

    Many thanks for any help,
    James Harvard

  • I’m not sure about what you want but my host is really great and is always ready to help me out although I would think that you will need to do the update and maintainace yourself. If you are still interested check out

I’m not sure this showed up so….

    purple-paw dot com

i dont think many hosts, if any, would do the upgrading for you, but some offer fantastico, or one click installs/upgrades. which are hardly a big effort.

dreamhost.com have their own one click install function
    bluehost.com use fantastico.

both are US though. But i live in the UK and have used both, and never had any problems.

If you are still looking for the managed UK based web hosting company then I’d like to recommend https://www.webhosting.uk.com
They provide wordpress hosting and provide good support through 24×7 helpdesk, phone and live chat support.
