No, qTranslate does not work with WP 3.5 unless you manually patch the code your self.

Lets hope a new version is released very soon. Its been to long already! I am checking every day hoping for a new version …

Even manually patching the code it doen’t work in all browsers.

Have problems where if you write something in one of the tabs for one language, and then switch to another tab before saving, then the content disappears from the editor.

Kind of sucks that there are only 2 language plugins. This one which breaks EVERY time wordpress updated, and WPML which now charges money.

I’m working on a new multilingual plugin right now – if you have some free time, please read this topic in order to see how you can help(I need people for testing the plugin and suggesting features and bug tracking) ??

I’m still early on in the development of the plugin, but so far it seems to be getting on fairly well.

Thanks for the reply. I did not try that one yet but this client has a few different people who will be editing the site and I don’t want them to have to use these types of work-arounds. He went out and bought a license for WPML so I am setting that one up for now which seems to work better in this case (separate posts for each language)

Yeah – this work-around is totally not comfortable at all ?? It will be pretty annoying to use it if they have a lot of content. WPML is the better choice in this case.

Have to say that the plugin works great, thing is that it has to be worked at after the release of a new WP version.

It is up to you, the users of the plugin, to check out the developers homepage when it comes to compability… kinda stupid to just update WP and then assume that all plugins works like a charm.

But actually a lot of plugins that are under active development stay one-step ahead of major WordPress updates by trying their plugins in the nightly releases or the Release Candidates. This is generally the right thing to do, but of course not every plugin developer can afford to do that, due the fact that they use their free time for developing plugins.
