Hi, I’ve read through the KBs and forum and didn’t see these questions addressed:

    EMAIL SECTIONS
I seem to be having trouble creating this kind of format in an email/template:
    – Section 1 (Text)
    – List of 3 latest posts (Automatic Content)
    – Section 2 (Text)
    – List of 3 latest posts (Automatic Content)

I can’t seem to arbitrarily re-order sections in the MailPoet editor I end up with Section, Section, List, List. Or everything goes in footer section. Is this harder than it looks or am I missing something. It *appears* you can repeat these content types, but getting them in the right order.. not so much.

    POPULAR POSTS
It’s nice to be able to include the latest posts, but what if I wanted the most popular posts for a given time period..?

    DAILY, WEEKLY..
What if I wanted a Wednesday newsletter with latest/popular posts, and a Sunday one. Do I need two lists? Is there something in between daily and weekly?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there @jvagner,

    EMAIL SECTIONS

The format that you outline should be possible. Please note that if you include the Latest Posts automatic content block in an email twice, it will not repeat posts. So you will have to set up categories or tags so that it pulls in different content in each section (or else it will just skip forward if all posts are included in both to the next not-yet-shown post).

Also note that the Latest Posts block does not play well with columns. When you say “section 1” and “section 2”, are these simple headings, or column blocks? If they are column blocks, then your dynamic content cannot be embedded inside the columns and so may be jumping outside of them as that’s a requirement.

I was able to set up a design like this on my test site using Text for the headings (converted to H2 format) and then an Automatic Latest Content block underneath each of the two text/headings block.

    POPULAR POSTS

Our Automatic Latest Content block only pulls in the most recent posts based on time stamps at this time. We do keep a list of customer-requested features and you can add your voice there to upvote this idea.

I found a similar request has already been created by a customer here, you can add a comment to chime in and let us know it’s needed:

    DAILY, WEEKLY…

As you note, scheduled emails such as our Post Notification email only have the option of daily or weekly. Again, you can add your voice to the following customer request to let us know it’s needed:

Yeah, simple headings. I’ll try again, It might have been some browser funkiness. Good to know it should be possible. I have some temporary workaround ideas (special tags) etc for now, and this would let me go in that direction. Appreciate the confirmation.

    Hi @jvagner,

Sounds like a good plan with the special tag, that should help isolate the different Posts blocks and let you target the content you really want to include.

Please do let us know if you still have issues with the headings – I ran my tests on Google Chrome if that makes any difference.

    In the meantime, happy emailing!

I’ve tried in Chrome and Edge — I can’t control headings and text and additional “Automatic Latest Content” blocks. It.. just doesn’t work.

Is there a way for me to get help on this? I couldn’t imagine purchasing a service if I can’t prove that it’ll work as described.. ??

    Thanks.

OK, I got it working, through extended trial and error. But the secret is, each content section needs to be an additional “single column” section, which will add a lot of bits and bobs and the footer each time. But then to each section you can add text, and separators, and active content components.
