QR codes integrated in webshop

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to figure out if its possible in wordpress that after you buy a product, you’ll receive an QR code and then this QR code will take you to an unique page.
    So the only way you get access to the page is if you bought the specific item and used the QR code.

    I’ve looked at QR plugins, but with my none existing experience with QR codes I can’t grasp if this solution is possible or not.

    If anyone with experience have a clue if this is possible it would be great! before I start digging down and spending all my spare time to find out it cant be done.

  • Hi. QR codes simply encode some text as an image.

    So you’d need to make it so the order is accessible through a “secret” URL, e.g. https://example.com/order/abc123, then generate the QR code for that URL and send it to the customer.

    Note that this doesn’t mean the page is only accessible if one has access to the QR code, the only thing needed to access the URL is the abc123 code.
