PW protected page w/ unwanted login

  • I have a password protected page but after password is entered, the page then asks for login and password with the Not a member? Register today! underneath. This is happening in Firefox and IE9. I’m not sure if it does this in Chrome as I was already logged in to WP when I tried this on my site.

    I don’t want an additional login or a register option. How do I get rid of that?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I have deactivated all plugins and checked. Haven’t tried going to the 2011 theme so will try that. The trouble is that, because I’ve already logged in using the various browsers, it’s hard to figure out if it will work.

    I am still getting the login screen after the password input. I really need to figure out what is happening.
