Putting thumbnails in two columns

I’d like to use this plugin to display thumbnails only, two rows, two columns, four images total. I’ve managed to edit the php as needed to remove titles and other info. But, I can’t seem to figure out how to get the column structure figured out.

Any help appreciated.
