putting sidebar functions in bottom

hi
i’m looking for a way to get the sidebar stuff to sit below my content and within or above my footer (dont care witch one). and work with widgets.

ideally each sidebar element would be a column and therefore the sidebar would go from left to right horizontally (and not top to down vertically like it is now.)

i got the first part…just made sidebar 800px wide, and the content i made wide as well and it seems to be fine. but how do i get the sidebar elements to lay side by side?

is it a problem if it’s a widgets sidebar?
