Putting search bar in main content area

I would like to place the search bar at the top of the main content area of my homepage (but leave it in the header for every other page). A bit like this site https://www.trivago.co.uk/

I am making a Storefront child theme. I have good CSS skills but I’m not great at PHP so any help would be appreciated.
