• Wasn’t happy to find the google ads after using the dialog to print. I had to disable this plug-in and find another, as I can’t have a client’s site providing 3rd party advertising. Would have liked a warning before installing.

  • You could have just tried it and see the tool in action at https://www.printfriendly.com or via https://www.printfriendly.com/browser_tool.

But you can disable the ads for a premium subscription if you don’t like the ads showing up. More information about that is at https://www.printfriendly.com/pro

That preview wasn’t obvious from the Plugin page, and I don’t want to pay $4 a month for a simple print feature!

There should be a notice of ads in the plug-in description, so people don’t have to waste their time installing it before they realize this is a commercial plugin.

Well, a lot of people/publisher, and I mean, a lot of them, do actually pay for this tool because it’s possibly the best to strip out all the junk and provide a clean and functional print feature with a user-friendly interface. Since you said you were working for a client’s website, perhaps you could let them know about the tool and make them decide whether the money is well spent or the ads can be allowed for the service it offers.

Nothing in the plug-in Description, FAQ or Screenshots mentions the ads. That is deceptive and the reason I give this 1 star.

This is Taylor from PrintFriendly. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. You raise a valid point and we’ll make it more clear in the next update.

When we do, would you be willing to change your rating? ??

    Yes, of course

I have to go with rchrisbishop’s evaluation. I manage content for a church website. We can’t use ads. Since there was no notice of ads for the free version, I had to go back and uninstall it. It’s a shame, because it’s a cool plugin. I know developers put a lot of time into creating these plug-ins. I certainly don’t blame you for needing to make a buck. But if you offered a premium version with a one-time price, I’d pay for it out of my own pocket and not charge the church. A subscription is out of the question.

Since it’s such an excellent plugin, I didn’t rate it. But I wanted to add my opinion for your consideration.
