Put a slider widget into a table cell?

    Hi Tobias – I just installed HUGE-IT Slider Plugin – very nice. Now, of course I want to insert one of their sliders into a Tablepress table. Can it be done? It just displays the shortcode for the slider in the cell.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    This probably means that the slider plugin is not using regular WordPress Shortcodes, but a custom implementation.

    But regardless: Using sliders in tables is pretty much always a bad idea. It means that you are using a table for layout and styling, which is considered a bad practice in modern webdesign. So, even though I don’t have all the knowledge here, I would not recommend using a slider inside a table.

    You got me! Using tables for layout and styling because, why not, it’s oh so easy. Alright, I will consider taking a CSS course.

    Hi,

    yeah, it might be easier, but in the long run, it’s the wrong semantic approach, which is important for SEO and accessibility.
