    Hi.

I have deactivated and deleted your plugin. I also emptied /wp-content/cache folder and made sure that the .PHP files from the plugins are deleted too.

The problem is that I’m getting a lot of petitions of old and unexisting minified CSS and JS files that are firing 404 errors and this consumes too many resources from the server and the page had slow down. I’m seeing all these 404 errors with a Redirection plugin.

The website uses Cloudflare and I thought maybe the problem is that I have to purge cache in there. I have the Purge All option but is not recommended to use because it can slow down a site even more, so I wanted to avoid using it.
Do you have any recommendations for this situation? How can I get rid of all that petitions to old minified files??

    Thank you, so much.

    Regards.

    Hello @juliamb

Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to assist you with this.
If you’ve deleted the /wp-content/cache folder this means that the files are cached on another level, Cloudflare or Server-side caching.
Possibly there are some browser Cache rules in Cloudflare that are still caching those files so in this case you also need to purge Cloudflare cache.
There is also a possibility that you just need to clear your browser cache.
If convenient please share the URL so I can check this. But the safest solution is to purge Cloudflare cache, and it might slow down your website a bit because it can take some time for the files to be cached again.
    Thanks!

    Hi, Marko.

Thank you so much for your quick response.

I was checking Cloudflare cache right now and how to purge it. It has an option to clean it all, but it is not recommended, the site would slow down pretty badly and I don’t know if I should use it.

I’m trying to purge some of the minified files one by one in Cloudflare to see if that works but I still prompt in the list of 404 errors, so I’m not sure it’s a Cloudflare problem.

    Regards.

    Hello @juliamb

Thank you for the information. Again if the /cache/ folder is deleted from wp-config and the plugin is disabled and deleted those files are being cached on another level. So if you are not using serverside caching, the only thing that you should do is to purge Cloudflare cache or clear your browser cache to see if those files are just being cached there.
You can try opening the incognito window and if the issue persists, that means that those files are cached on Cloudflare level.
    Thanks!

Ok, I get it. I will purge Cloudflare cache completely to see if those 404 errors disappear.

Thank you so much for your help, Marko.

    Have a nice day!

    Hello @juliamb

    You are most welcome!

Hello, After I update my wordpress version, and updated w3 total cache to the latest version, it shows the error, so I deactivated w3 total cache.

Now It’s deactivated but not deleted.. My MOBILE Homepage is not updating. Desktop is updated. I do try to purge cache from cloudflare, but it doesnt work.

I also tried to “false” wp_debug from wp-cofing.php added by w3 total cache.

I check .htaccess and wp-content folder, it has the files/folders and htaccess w3 total cache. (I never remove).

Is it okay if I update my htaccess and remove the cache files from wp-content?

I also see errors likes this:

    WordPress database error Can’t find file: ‘./wp_name/wp_redirection_404.frm’ (errno: 13) for query SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM wp_redirection_404 made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), require_once(‘wp-includes/template-loader.php’), do_action(‘template_redirect’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, WordPress_Module->template_redirect, RE_404::create, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbNew->insert, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbInjection_QueryCaching->insert, W3TC\\_CallUnderlying->insert, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbNew->insert, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbInjection->insert, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbNew->default_insert, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbNew->query, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbInjection->query, W3TC\\DbCache_WpdbNew->default_query

Please help me, i am having this issue for a week. Thank you
