I am using the free Pure & Simple theme and would like to switch to the child theme. I downloaded the child theme and tried to install but am getting an error that the parent isn’t installed – I am already using the parent theme so not sure why these error is appearing?

    Hi there,

First you need to make sure that you have given appropriate Template attribute in style.css of child theme.

Template: pure-simple // Here you need to provide File name of parent theme

To know more on child theme, see this as a reference How to create child theme

    Thanks

Actually it seems the problem was that there are two Pure & Simple themes – the free “Pure & Simple” theme and the paid “Puresimple” theme – the child theme looks for the paid “Puresimple” one. I have now purchased the paid theme so the child theme installed correctly this time, but you should perhaps update the child settings to allow for either of the parent versions. Thanks!

    Hi Jessica HappyChanter,

Thank you for your suggestion, we will surely amends this on near future.

    Hello,
so the child theme that is downloaded will not be applied without the purchase of the premium?
