• This is more a notification of how I solved the issue rather than a problem. I run a university site and when we activated the widget it was not working. After digging in I found that the “purechat_widget_object.replacement_code” was not being populated correctly. By placing a declaration of this variable attached to the wp_head call pulling in the variable from the options table I was able to get the plugin to work as advertised. I do hope this helps someone.

  • How exactly did you do this? I am having the same problem.

@perixmedia, like I said in the post. You will need to modify the plugin to dump the code out in the head of the page. This is just how I solved it. The object creation is not returning the replacement code back to the script this is just a workaround to get it there. I assume the developers will do something about this soon.

I also have the same problem, the chat is randomly “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)”. Sometimes it is resolved when I go to the setting page and select again the widget but sometimes there is nothing I can do, just like now. I have reported it already but nothing was done. After they send me emails to tell me how to get more chats!

I think the work around in the mean time it is fixed is to put a link on our site to direct to the “Personal Chat Page”. The link won’t go away the only difference is it will open in a new page.
