    Hello

Firstly, what I’m not clear about is whether configuring this Plugin to work with WooCommerce requires any modificcations to be made to an existing GTM set up?

I can see you have some suggested workspace templates, but I already have a workspace configured for standard events and also some custom events related to gravity form submissions (all working).

In my current GTM workspace I have a tag named GA – Config that is set to Firing Triggers – All Pages, and then a second Tag with it’s onw trigger for Gravity Forms. I see in your template the GA4 tag includes it’s own trigger. Do I need this or are the WooCommerce events being captured by my current tag?

If that is not the issue, our WooCommerce is heavily modified, so I’m wondering if that is the issue i.e. whether our moddification of key templates is the issue? Are there any docs specifictly showing what key template IDs are required to be present for checkout steps?

    Thanks

Whether your GTM setup requrires chages depend on how you container is set up.

First you need to verify that the purchasse event is fired on a successful purchase. Open GTM i preview mode and make a test purchase. If the purchase event i fired GTM Kit is working as it should and the problem is in your container configuration.

Download the container file with the GA4 ecommerce configuration. It contains a tag GA4 - Ecommerce Events that collects all the ecommerce events. You can import it to a new workspace or merge it your default workspace as shown in this guide

Thank you for reply. Testing a live purchase is a bit problematic, so before I do this, can you please confirm this:

Attached template includes tag that links to trigger that includes list of values “add_payment_info” values etc… As stated above my existing tag simply lists trigger as ‘all pages’. Is it required that for this integration to work we have new ecommerce specific tag with a trigger that specifically lists those events as per your template?

GTM Kit pushes standard ecommerce events to Google Tag Manager, so any guide or recipe you find out there will work. I suggest you follow the guide above and import the containers to a new and empty workspace. That shold give som understanding of how it works
