We have the WooCommerce for Google Analytics plugin installed on the site and it had been pulling in purchase data into Google Analytics successfully for a couple of years. Suddenly, we are not seeing any purchase info in Google Analytics, but other data is flowing, plugin has been updated and details checked. We have not changed anything on the website either, and have received orders within this time.

    Hi @landonmarketing,

I understand you’re having issues with the purchase event not being tracked (but other data is flowing ok). In order to help you troubleshoot this, can you share more details, please?

    • Are you able to tell since when it isn’t tracking the purchase event?
    • Have you made any changes around that time? Installing or updating a plugin, using any custom code snippet, changing your theme, modifying any setting anywhere?
    • Do you have a caching or optimization plugin that defers JS?
    • Do you have a custom thank you page redirect for your purchases?

    Thanks!

Hi OP, thanks for your quick response.

    • The last order was tracked in GA on 28th May.
    • I can’t give an exact date but we would have run wordpress/plugin updates near the start of June.
    • There isn’t any caching or plugin that would defer the JS.
    • We don’t have a custom thank you page, just the woocommerce deafult.

    Hi @landonmarketing

Thanks for the further clarification. It sounds like cookie constant related issues. Google introduced?Consent Mode?in March 2024 to comply with privacy laws in certain regions. This means website visitors from these regions must now explicitly grant consent for cookies before any analytics tracking occurs.

You can use a plugin like ?WP Consent API to add cookie consent banner, to let your visitors grant consent for tracking.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.
