I’ve been using Free EDD for more than 7 years to sell one eBook. It was working as it should.

But recently a customer contacted me that they had not received a purchase confirmation or receipt. So I went into the plugin to investigate and I found that the whole section was blank in the Emails >Purchase Receipts

So I populated it with the shortcode {download_list} to test it, sent myself a test email and inside was only

I can see the eBook download is still intact, but I can’t figure out (I set this up 7 years ago!)how EDD determines which download to insert. (I have a few free downloads on site)

    Please guide me?

    Thanks!

    Hi @chefhef.

First make sure you are running the latest version of EDD and then check out this article https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/email-receipts-and-or-notifications-are-not-being-sent/

It has a few pointers on things to check to make sure emails send correctly.

The Purchase Receipt email setting, if left empty will still use a default message that will be sent.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have the latest version. The Purchase receipt was not empty; it contained {download_list} which only resulted in that “sample download file name”.

In my Downloads, I have a few items. I see they all have same category and tag. I don’t know what I have to do to identify which of the downloads is to be included in the Purchase receipt. I can’t find that documentation. I would be happy to pay someone to help me with this, but for some reason I thought it would be faster to figure it out myself.

The Purchase Receipt email, when the {download_list} tag is added to it, will list ALL of the Downloads that the user has purchased in their order.

If they purchase Downaload A, only that will be shown, If they purchase 5 different downloads A-E then all of them will be listed in the email.

It does not use the catgories/tags to list downloads, it will list all items in the Order.
