    Good morning Mika,

I installed your plugin to offload a very picture-heavy website to DreamObjects using a bucket accelerated by the new CDN. However, I am not sure if your plugin is actually pulling from the true DreamSpeed CDN.

According to what I see on the DreamObjects settings page, to connect to the bucket directly, I need to connect to *.objects.dreamhost.com. To connect to the CDN, I would instead need to go to *.objects.cdn.dream.io. They are separated line items within the bucket settings.

    See DreamHost Wiki: https://wiki.dreamhost.com/images/8/80/Cdn_buckets_settings.fw.png

When I pulled up the source for my site, I can see that the images are coming from *.objects.dreamhost.com, not *.objects.cdn.dream.io. Would I be correct in saying that they are not in fact coming from the new DreamSpeed CDN, but rather from the DreamObjects S3 bucket storage directly? In my DreamHost panel, under DreamObjects, my “Usage” tag does not show any activity under CDN, further indicating that it is not in fact pulling from the DreamSpeed CDN.

Please let me know if I am far from the mark, or if it is in fact not actually pulling from the new CDN, but rather just the bucket directly.

Nope, you’re right. You can put in yourbucket.objects.cdn.dream.io as your CDN path, though, and that will work for the accelerated path.

When I built the plugin we didn’t have the CDN alias yet, and if I fold it back in, it’ll be weird :/

Ahhhhh, I see. I’ll go ahead and put that in as the path. I really think this should be made clear in the FAQ or something. By default, the plugin is not actually using the DreamSpeed CDN, yet that’s the plugin’s name…

Perhaps under the CDN path setting you can have a dropdown box for:
*Regular DreamObjects Bucket (Lower Cost, Lower Speed)
*DreamSpeed CDN (Higher Cost, Higher Speed)
*Other (Follows CDN Path Settings Box)

Honestly, I really love this plugin and will use it for this new site now that I know how to get the true CDN path to my images. Thanks for making the integration between WP and DreamObjects/Speed easy!

I haven’t updated the FAQ for the changes (it’s… well I suck for not doing it). I have to sit down and fix a lot of that documentation :/
