Pulling Categories from Custom Post Types

    I would like to convert my post type ‘movies’ to ‘posts’ only where the custom post type ‘movies’ has the category ‘director’. The problem is the only categories showing in “Limit posts to category…” are the categories from the standard ‘post’ type, not custom type ‘movies’. Is there a way to alter the plugin to pull categories from custom post types into the “Limit posts to category…” dropdown?

    Yes, but it might be easier to use Post Type Switcher‘s bulk edit action instead. On your edit list screen, click ‘director’ to filter the list. Then select all, choose ‘Edit’ from the Bulk Edit dropdown, and change the post type there.

    Otherwise, feel free to edit the source code of Convert Post Types. Just change ‘category’ to your custom taxonomy name.
