• Hi,

Is it possible to publish two different feeds from one WP installation?

I have noticed that all my posts get indexed by Google within a few hours, but some of my pages doesn’t get indexed at all (I have a few hundred pages on my site since I used WP as both a blog tool and a CMS).

I assume the posts get indexed because the feed and the generated pings, so I would like to generate feed/pings for my pages as well.

Can I do that without messing up my regular blog feed?

    Thanks, Mads

  • This won’t be easy because pages do not show in The Loop and thus in any feed. You will have to rewrite a lot of feed-rss2.php.

Have you tried Google’s Sitemaps and the wordpress sitemap plugin?

Yes, I have done sitemaps. I doesn’t help. Posts are indexed much better than pages ??

Still no luck getting the pages indexed, even though I tried adding a second feed (using PHP Feed Generator).

Could it be because I use the 404.php to fetch my pages from a database?

    Like this:
URL not found -> Go to 404.php, check if URL is in the database -> Show generated page if URL in database, else show standard 404 error page.

    Thanks, Mads
