I have just added this plugin a week ago, and my website has become a nightmare with loads of errors when publishing a new post or updating an existing post.

It now takes about 15-30 minutes to post a new article or edit a post because WordPress is not allowing me to either update or publish the post. So I have to press return or refresh the browser, my edits disappear so I redo them again, and I try to update and gives me Update Failed error, and when I finally think it will publish I get the critical error followed by 500 error.

    The errors I get are:

“Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

Hit refresh, redo the edits, and keep fingers crossed that the error disappears. Only to get (always a package deal, one after the other)

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

    Followed by

“This page isn’t working. https://www.powerhomebiz.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500”

I just hit return, return, return until the error disappears and I can see my dashboard and/or my website again. I resume posting or editing, and the whole thing starts again

I disabled the plugin but the errors remained. It’s driving me bonkers. My webhost has helped me debug and I removed the plugins that I no longer need, that duplicates other plugins, and those showing with errors in the debug.

Help please! I am THISCLOSE to just doing a fresh install of WordPress

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Thanks for reaching out, hopefully we’ll be able to figure our what’s occurring with your setup. If the delays are occurring with the plugin deactivated please follow the steps below, which can help determine plugin conflicts:

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “AMP”
    4. Edit a post or create a new one and check for the same issue

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

Let me know the outcome of the above. If the same issue persists please provide your Site Health information using this form and we can inspect your current setup.

OH WOW! I was actually able to post an article in 5 minutes, as compared to my 2 hour time to actually post one piece.

Interesting! While in troubleshooting mode can you reenable other plugins one by one, while testing a post edit each time? It would be great to be able to pinpoint what plugin is possibly causing the conflict. We can then test from out side. Feel free to share your Site Health information if you’d like us to setup a similar environment.

I followed your suggestion and while in troubleshooting mode, reenabled the plugin one by one together with AMP and Health Check

And I was not able to replicate the errors that have been plaguing me when I was not in Troubleshooting mode. I published 2 posts and edited the articles and added internal links to the articles — and for all of them the editing and publishing went smoothly

FYI: We just released AMP v2.1.2 which fixes some bugs that may be related to what you’ve been experiencing.

Thank you so much! Seems like my issues have been fixed. It feels soooo good to be able to publish a post in 5 minutes, not 2 hours LOL
