When I create a new post and upload/attach an image the image disappears after publish. The post remains, but image is gone from the post. The image is on the server and registered as media, but are not attached to the post.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

  • Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

if you say about the “set featured image”, maybe your theme they don’t support default way of wordpress with “featured image”, and have someone els way to show a main image for every post.

I can’t give you a link to the page without making you an admin to the live site. This occurs when creating a new post as an admin.

I could probably bandaid something to work by using the featured image instead. What I’d prefer is to just be able to create a post with an image (no text). The image appears on the front page like so:

…and I forgot the image. Whoops!

I ended up replacing the admin post-new.php file with a new copy and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Very strange considering the file was unchanged, but hey.. it works!
