Hello, my name is Johnathon. I hope everybody is doing well. I really would like some clarification. My site is fairly new to AdSense. When I first got approved for AdSense the system was asking me for a publisher txt file to upload to my root domain. I uploaded the txt file and a few days later the ads were running. Now, about a month later the system is asking me for another txt file to upload to my root domain. Now I have like 3 txt files uploaded to my route domain. Unfortunately, the ads have completely stopped running on my site. I know for a FACT I have no policy violations. I know for a FACT that my side is clean with no bad bot traffic. This is so frustrating! Can anyone explain the situation? Thanks.

    Hi Johnathon,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear of your frustration regarding messages from the AdSense platform. I’ve responded to your other support topic now. suggesting you use the AdSense Help Center for enquiries regarding the ads.txt file, as we’re limited to Site Kit queries here in the support forums.

Based on your comments in this support topic I’ve checked your site and I can see a Site Kit placed AdSense snippet. If you’re not seeing any ads but you do have an approved AdSense account and site the issue may not be specific to your ads.txt file. I’d be happy to check your set up if you want to share your Site Health information, and share when ads were last appearing on this site.

    Many thanks for sharing @johnrocks777.

I’ve checked the details from the form submitted and I can see that your AdSense site status is ready. I also noticed some console errors relating to your caching plugin and a 404 response related to AdSense, possibly via one of your security plugins.

So we can determine more on this, please temporarily deactivate your WP Rocket, WordFence and iThemes plugins and let me know once complete. I’ll then check your site once more. These changes are only temporary.

I think a better idea would be for me to create an admin account for you so you can log in and check the details mentioned above. Yes, I can temporarily deactivate WP Rocket, WordFence, and iThemes plugins. Option 1. I can give you my login details. Option 2. I can create login details for you using your email address. Option 3. Yes, I can disable the plug-ins. (if that’s what you want me to do) In my opinion option, 1 or 2 is better because the plugins will only be disabled for a short period of time. I give you my full permission and authorization to log in to my site and help find this problem. Thank you for your support! The email for the site is [email protected]

I checked out that short error video you created. What is that? That doesn’t look good. OMG! Now I’m really confused. ??

@johnrocks777 It’s against forum guidelines to offer us access to log in to your site and for us to log in, so that’s not an option here. @jamesosborne will follow up with you when he’s available to check your site if you can temporarily deactivate those plugins as he requested. Thank you!

    Hi @johnrocks777,

I’ve checked your site at present and I can see a valid Site Kit placed snippet appearing on your site and I can confirm this is a valid snippet without modification.

I can see you also have a separate AdSense snippet placed, not via Site Kit. As per AdSense guidelines you may wish to remove the non Site Kit placed snippet, to ensure you don’t have duplicate snippets. While I can’t be sure whether this has impacted any ad placements please check your site for ads after doing so.

If ads don’t appear with a single placement, you may wish to check with your theme provider. I ask as I can see theme related console errors, with some ad blocker references.

You may also wish to check with the AdSense team over on the AdSense Help Center in relation to any possible ads.txt misconfigurations, or check your AdSense auto ads settings to ensure you’re not limiting any ad formats and that you have Auto ads enabled (Ads > Overview > Edit > Auto ads).

Finally you can re-enable the plugins mentioned above, as they don’t seem to be impacting your ads.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Note also that Site Kit is working as expected, with the plugin having inserted the snippet. What you’re encountering is not related to any configurations within the plugin. Hopefully the above will help with further troubleshooting potential causes for ads not appearing.

Yes, I have removed the non-Site Kit placed snippet and re-enabled the plugins. I will continue to troubleshoot following your recommendations. Thank you! Please have a great day. ??

Thanks for the update. I can see only one AdSense snippet placed on your site now, nice work.

Hopefully the product experts over on the AdSense Help Center can assist with your ads.txt setup, or provide assistance for ads not appearing.

    Have a great day!
