Sorry I don’t know if this is a wordpress or woocommerce question
And I don’t know how to upload a screen shot
In the back end – edit product
On the RH side up the top under the publish category

    Status: Published edit
    Visibility: Published edit
Published on: Jan 1, 1970 at 00:00 Edit

Why does the date sometimes show Jan 1 1970 and other times shows the date I actually did it? Is this a default somewhere that I’ve missed? If I copy this product as a draft to create a new one it will always show the published date as Jan 1 1970 but if I create a new product it’ll show the correct date?

How can I always get it to show the correct published date? I use it to do an export to see when I uploaded something so I can remove it after a week from the New Releases section, but if I’ve copied it the date messes up and is irrelevant.

I’m not sure if it has any impact on SEO or not

    Thank you

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear that the “Published on:” value is incorrect after copying a product to a new draft!

And I don’t know how to upload a screen shot

In the future, feel free to upload screenshots to a service like https://snag.gy or your media library and paste links here.

I wasn’t able to replicate this behaviour on my test site – upon copying a product to a new draft, I see “Publish on: Jun 21, 2021 at 11:32 Edit” (current date and time) and after actually publishing it, I see the date and time when I published it.

This kind of problem can be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin, although I have a feeling that this isn’t in fact an issue with WooCommerce – it’s an issue with how WordPress assigns published date/time to posts, and perhaps the time settings.
    ?
The best way to determine whether this is caused by a conflict is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

You may also want to test if changing the language and the time in general WordPress settings helps.
