When I do upgrades I simply replace the existing executable on my site and change the version numbers

You are saying that you duplicate the product by making changes but the date does not change? Is this correct?

I just edit the existing download entry and adjust the version number and size :

You see the date on the post url but the download date is different.

Thanks. But I don’t want multiple downloads on my site. My download should always reflect the latest version.

The published date is the date you see in the “Published on: ” field of the Download Item. Just the same way a blog post has a published date.

You can edit the published date by editing the download item (the same way you would edit a blog post’s published date).
