I just encountered an issue where whenever I’d edit a published or drafted post, it would be converted to auto draft and the title changed to “Auto Draft” with all content cleared out.

There’s a notice that there’s an auto save with an option to restore, but when you do restore, nothing happens.

I tried to deactivate plugins and when I came to deactivating Yoast, the issue was fixed.

We would like to continue to investigate this issue and therefore, we expect few more information about your setup. This might help us replicate the issue on our end:

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v15.9? If you update, does the issue resolve?
    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?
    3. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.6.2?
    4. Are you seeing any JavaScript errors in your browser console?

We look forward to hearing from you.`

    Hello @digitalwin!

Thanks for getting back to us.

We understand that when you deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin, everything works fine. This gives us a clue that the issue is caused by a conflict. So we need you to perform a conflict check. To do that, please deactivate all plugins except Yoast SEO. You also need to switch to a standard theme like Twenty-Twenty. Then check if the issue occurs. If no issue occurs, please reactivate your other plugins one at a time and see if the issue occurs again for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, switch back to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme conflict.

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.`

    Let us know the result.
