Publish renewed articles on Facebook

Great question! Right now, we support posting ads to Facebook through the use of the Uncanny Automator plugin. I am not 100% certain as to whether that plugin supports Post Updates as well, which is what a renewal would be considered. I’ve sent in a question to their support team about this and will let you know for certain once I hear back!

Currently the client is using Zapier for the publication of the ads on Facebook. But it only shows the new listings, not the renewed listings.

Thank you for your patience on this. I did hear back from Uncanny Automator and this is something that their plugin can do — however, it’s not the best solution right now with AWP Classifieds. Here’s why:

The automation would need to use the ‘post updated’ status in Uncanny Automator. Right now, we don’t have an integration that would specifically identify a renewal in their plugin.

That doesn’t work because ads can be updated a lot of times — from fixing typos to changing the price to adding new pictures – even an ad expiring is considered a post update. Right now our code doesn’t support a way to differentiate between an updated ad and a renewal.

I’ve added this as a feature request for the future. I’m sorry that we can’t support this right now, but I hope I’ve explained why! For now, manually posting renewed ads is the best solution.
