Publish and Update button is not working

It sounds like there may be some sort of conflict happening on your site. Is the behavior you mentioned happening on the Events post type as well, or just default Posts?

there is no conflict, I am using only Elementor plugin in my newly created website, yet I am facing the same problem, however, downgrading WP version solves the issue!

Please note that this error “Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.” which keeps popping up on post-editing page is associated with this issue I think

Oh, it can be solved by switching over to wp classic editor plugin by downloading and activating it from plugins> add new, and making it default editor for all users, and allowing users to switch between block editor and classic editor,
both of these settings can be toggled from settings> writing,
but still resolving the main issue is important.
