    Jetpack Version 3.8.2
    Facebook connected in JetPack

    Hi,

When I create a new post – Under
[Publicize] it has “Facebook: Paws & Claws Adoptions Inc”.

If I I click [Edit Details]
the tick box next to Facebook is untick.

When I click [Publish] for the post – although un-ticked – I find my post got posted to Facebook.

I want to be able to control if posts get posted to FB or not and at the moment it is always posting to FB regardless if the checkbox is ticked or not ??

Hi there! Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

Thanks for the link! I had a look at your site, and Jetpack appears to be properly connected at the moment. That’s a good sign!

The next step is to completely reset your Publicize connections. Please follow these instructions completely to do so:
    https://jetpack.me/support/publicize/facebook/#reconnecting-facebook

Then, see if the issue is resolved the next time you publish a post. Please let me know how that works for you, and we can go from there!

    Hi,

thanks – deleting the app from fb and relinking again seems to have fixed the issue.

However I’m having issues with the ‘Duplicate and Merge Posts’ plugin and I know it is not jetpack technically, but maybe you can help assist?

When I duplicate an existing post and decided to make it a new standalone post, the ‘Publicize’ check box is disabled so I cant choose to publish to fb despite duplicating as a new post.

any suggestions on how I could get it to work?

Glad to hear that worked! I’m afraid that Publicize will only work with new posts. So, if you duplicate an existing post, you will likely run into trouble with Publicize. That’s because Publicize recognizes the duplicated post as an existing post, and does not publish it to your connected accounts.

I hope that helps clear things up! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
