  • I′m having the same issue over here.
    I setup a featurded image on a new post, but this image does not appear in Facebook .

    Website = https://alpedehuzes.marteijn.name/

    FB = https//www.facebook.com/pages/Alpe-dHuZes-2013-Jordy/342197389208749

    Please help!

    Also checked a blog post url using : https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug and that showed that the og:image was missing.

    Looks like something wrong with the Jet pack plugin not adding the og:image property to the blog page

    Please help

    The Jetpack plugin should add the og:image property if you have inserted an image into your post, or if you have defined a Featured Image. This image has to be more than 200px wide and high though.

    @alexis B. Since you have installed the WordPress SEO plugin, Jetpack doesn’t add any Open Graph meta tags. All meta tags are handled by WordPress SEO on your site.

    Could you both walk me through the steps you followed to publish these posts? Did you use any plugin to duplicate or copy posts?

    Jeremy,

    See the email i have just send you with more details.

    @jeremy SEO has been installed for a long while. I did not have any issues with Publicize until last Tuesday. There were no additional plugins installed, no code tampering, no updates…nothing. It just stopped pulling the photos and uses only one logo found on the sidebar of the site. Pictures are always above 200px.

    As far as the “steps” I typed, and published. Plain and simple. I have no other plugins that share or duplicate posts.

    @alexis Could you check the WordPress SEO Social options, to add Open Graph Meta tags to all your posts? That should help Facebook when crawling for images on each one of your posts.

    While this might not have been necessary until now, Facebook recently made changes to Facebook Pages, and it seems that post images were affected by the change.

    Hi, Jeremy. Thank you for Publicize. It’s a fantastic feature.

    I’m having some of the same trouble with Facebook; however, as the other posters are. My site: https://thedoctortjeckleburgreview.com used Publicize successfully with FB until a few weeks ago. The last successful crosspost from Eckleburg to FB, with the featured image, was on March 18th. I’ve spent all day removing and adding plugins, changing thumbnail and images to plus 200px. I’ve added featured images, images in posts, both, posted and reposted with these various settings without success.

    I’ve also run the FB Debug protocol and FB seems to be reading the OG but not pulling it into the automatic posting box. I’m uncertain as to the cause. The theme, Zenon Pro, worked well with Publicize at the start.

    You mention above that FB has recently changed their Facebook Pages protocols. This is likely the issue. I am trying to Publicize to the FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/eckleburg, which we were easily able to do before. Any help you could provide at your earliest convenience would be greatly appreciated. I’d prefer not to add an additional plugin if possible.

    We are an image rich site and images are very important to us in the publicizing of our posts. Please help?

    @raebryant I noticed that some of your posts use AL2FB OGP, while others use Jetpack to display Open Graph Tags.

    Since you use WP Super Cache on your site, I wonder if the problem could be caused by some cache issues when Facebook accessed your site to collect information about your post (image, title, URL, description).

    Could you try to clear your cache in WP Super Cache, and try to publish a new post?

    Just updating everyone…

    I finally got around to messin’ with it, and I was able to make it work.

    1) Added a “Featured Image” to posts

    2) Cleared Cache (WP SUPER CACHE)

    FB now pulls an image, however, it will not pull any single image from the post itself. It will only pull images from the FEATURED photo area.
