    Hi.

I really liked the idea of publicize when I first saw it. However, I’ve been racking my brain on how to remove the partial post that gets sent with every facebook update. Of course I don’t want to show the content on facebook, I want the followers to click the article and drive traffic to my own website.

I’ve been digging in the publicize php files, but I can’t find what I need to change to force publicize to not send any text from the article. I would like to keep it the same as it is now, just without the massive chunk of text… Just a clickable image with a small preview of the article, nothing else (i.e no visible URL as well).

You can remove the automated excerpt by filling in the Publicize Custom Message box that appears right above the Publish button in your post editor.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi.

Thank you for your answer. Sadly this doesn’t help. I’m trying to remove the excerpt and link that is sent.

Before this we used Next Scripts SNAP. But now that publicize allows posting to google+ I wanted to switch to jetpacks publicize. But publicize sends text and and links to both G+ and Facebook. How can I remove the text being sent to these? Without using the “custom field” for every post.

That can’t be done at the moment, but it’s on our roadmap. You can follow our progress here:

I’m having a similar problem with Jetpack Publicize on my Google+ page here https://plus.google.com/u/0/100076692858086836216/posts. All posts that are posted automatically using the WordPress Jetpack plugin (not the manual ones) include all this text in addition to what I have in the custom excerpt box, which is placed above it followed by hashtags.
I can’t figure out a way to rid this extra text, as I want just what’s written in the custom excerpt box on wordpress (the title and hashtags) to show.
I’ve seen other WordPress blogs have no issues with it, so it’s concerning me.
Command F and search for ‘First renders of the LG G6 appear showing a design quite similar to the LG G5’ to see an example on my page.
