Publicize publish new post as a image on facebook wall not as a link

    Hello developers,

    Thanks a lot for this wonderful plugin.
    I am using it to publicize posts on Facebook. There are two thinkgs :

    1. When I use it to publish post on Facebook Page, it publish as a link.
    2. When I use it to publish post on my Facebook wall, it publish as a image. Image caption will include link and post excerpt.

    Now, I just want to know is it the way it works? or can I get link posting as well for my Facebook wall.

    That’s indeed the way it works right now.

    Facebook offers an API allowing Publicize to post “enhanced stories“, matching the type of post you’ve published on your site. If you published a short post with images, Publicize will consider it an image post, and upload an image to your Facebook Profile.

    That API isn’t available for Facebook Pages yet, though. That’s why Publicized posts to Facebook Pages look like simple links. Once it becomes available, Publicized posts will look the same, whether you post to a Page or a Profile.

    can I get link posting as well for my Facebook wall.

    That’s not possible right now, but we might add that option in a future Jetpack release. You can follow our progress here:

    Thanks Jeremy for explanation.
    I hope many bloggers like me are happy to see “link posting” option since it draws traffic from social media rather than just likes and comments!
