Publicize not using Featured Image when posting to Tumblr

Thanks for the report.

I looked into it, and it seems to be a bug on our end: Galleries are not recognized by Publicize. Your posts including only a Featured Image will work, but if you insert a Gallery into your post, Tumblr won’t display any image for that post.

I’ve let our developers know about the issue so that we can look into it in more detail. I’ll post again here as soon as I have some news.

I have had the same problem. I would make a new thread but your depiction of the bug is incorrect in this thread. It does not publicize to Tumblr when you are only using a featured image. It was publicizing the featured image three weeks ago when this thread started but now it does not at all. I’d like help getting my featured image to post again on Tumblr since I, too, only use the featured image aspect in my posts.

Same here – I post a daily blog, so I can tell you exactly when Jetpack Publicize stopped picking up featured images with Tumblr…February 17th, it stopped working. Now it will only post the text to Tumblr, which is a bummer since I use a featured image for each of my daily posts.

The sharing buttons correctly pick up the featured image, but the publicize feature is not

any update on this? I updated the Jetpack plugin and now it’s not working at all when I use the wordpress iPad app to publish an article. This previously, had never been an issue. Indeed, it was even picking up the featured image for Tumblr.

I’ve tried setting “post type” to an image, and I believe I’ve also correctly reset the connection to Tumblr by deleting it and re-logging in.

Is it a bug? It seems to have cropped up suddenly, and it’s not much worse with this most recent update.

It is indeed a bug. We’re looking in it, and I’ll post again here as soon as I have some news.

last night it stopped working for any social media service, including facebook and twitter, when posting from the wordpress app. I’m going to try a complete re-authorize for all of them, see if that does anything.

I am experiencing the same trouble, not feature image is posting. nevertheless, it’s a very cool plugin.

I am experiencing the same problem, all of my posts are published as text posts, I have to manually edit them as pictures. Please fix this!

Me too! I loved that feature, it pulled in an extra 100-150 hits a day for me. Can’t wait until the bug get fixed. Thanks Jeremy Herve for being so awesome, jetpack rocks.

We’re definitely aware of the issues with Publicize to Tumblr, and we’re working on it. I’ll let you know when it’s fixed!

I use myself a plugin to suck galleries from Flickr and paste them into posts, to save bandwidh and storage. I Would really really enjoy to be able to “publicize” the featured image, like it does when i publicize on Facebook !!! Else, Publicize is great ??
