  • I followed the edit to the PHP, but not having the same luck – it will not connect and I am still getting error messages. The only thank full thing is I have permission to posts again – which as the site admin has been VERY frustrating.

    Will wait on the fix.

    Also getting errors trying to run a debug as it keeps saying “site not communicating” – can not change this.

    I appreciate the Jetpack guys are getting a fix in but this has been one of the biggest update headaches for a long time with multiple errors and issues.

    I’m having problems updating the plug-in. In dutch it says:Er is een fout opgetreden bij het bijwerken van Jetpack door WordPress.com: De update kon niet worden ge?nstalleerd omdat we sommige bestanden niet konden kopi?ren. Dit komt meestal door inconsistente bestandsrechten. modules/publicize/publicize-jetpack.php.

    @hafred Could you try to log in to your site via FTP or CPanel, and delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder, and reinstall the plugin manually as explained here:

    You’ll find the Jetpack plugin folder here:

    wp-content
       plugins
         jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

    If you’re not sure how to do this, you can ask your hosting company for help. They should also have documentation explaining how to edit or remove files from your site using FTP or a File Manager in your admin panel.

    Jeremy, I have never been able to connect to any of my social media except Facebook. I get this error message:

    Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work.
    Error code: -10520

    Your suport team told me by email a while back that my host was blocking the connections, they say no they aren’t and suggest some php changes which my son tried and they didn’t work either.

    Could the problem have anything to do with these php changes you suggest above? Or do I need to change hosting companies?!! I’m using 4.1.1

    @tagomago Since you were in touch with one of my colleagues via email, I’d suggest replying to them; they’ll know more about your site and the issue, and will be able to check if your host is still blocking connections.

    I’ve got Jetpack Version 4.2.2 installed, and no photos are showing up on my Facebook posts; they do show up in Twitter. This have been an ongoing problem for years! Gave up on trying to fix it many months ago because it was taking too much time – dealing with missing og images and such with FB Debugger. When I “Scrap Again” in FB Debugger, the preview shows properly. I have 2 sites using the same theme (Avada). I have been manually posting the links for one of the sites, but would prefer to have this automated again. These did post properly, years ago… This is beyond frustrating. Any advice??
