I have been having problems with Publicize not working on my blog since 4.2.1, and the update to 4.2.2 didn’t fix it either. I thought I would try disconnecting my social services and reconnect them. However, I am unable to reconnect G+ to use my page for some reason.

I have followed the steps from your site (go to apps, disconnect in G+), reconnect in Publicize, but it will not offer me my page as a connection, just my personal profile. I also disconnected the WP app from my Page’s app list as well, same issue still.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Interestingly enough, if I go here: https://wordpress.com/sharing/ and connect G+ then I get the same screen I do from inside my own WP for a personal connection. However, from there (https://wordpress.com/sharing/), if I close that window, I’m then presented with a G+ page to share on. This does not happen from inside my WP admin area.

Now, the problem is that I disconnected WP from apps for G+ on my page. In doing the above I’m given the list of pages that are still connected in G+ apps. Therefore, the page I want to share to doesn’t show because I disconnected the WP app inside G+.

No matter what, I can’t get Publicize to try and authorize a connection to my page to get the WP app reconnected for sharing.

Same error here. I’ve tried everything. Waiting for an update. – DroidTurf.com

I figured out how to reconnecting my G+ page after following the steps to disconnect it. I did a blog post about it here explaining the steps: https://wphelpandtips.com/how-to-reconnect-a-google-page-jetpack-publicize/

It seems that Google+ did make some changes to their Business Pages, and how they can be administrated. We’ll investigate some more, and update our support docs accordingly. In the meantime, your blog post explains things very nicely, thank you!

@admindroidturf Could you try @godthor’s suggestion above?

I followed the blog post step for step until I got to ‘third party tools.’ Even in the old (original) Google+ under settings there’s no menu showing third party tools like the one shown in the tutorial. I’m under the settings for my Google+ Page. Please help!

Hmm. It should be right right near the middle on the settings page, right above “Manage other apps & activity”.

Can you take a screenshot of the settings page you do see?

    Here’s the screenshot. Click here -> https://s4.postimg.org/p9ao5a0fh/Google_screenshot.png

That is very different than what I expected to see.

Is there the link for classic view at the very top?

I’m hunting around for the missing third-party tools, and saw this on the Google forums where someone was asking about missing third-party tools.

Andrew: the most common reasons why you wouldn’t have the option to set up a password for your Google+ Pages:

    – your Google+ Page is owned by a Profile managed through Google Apps

    – you are younger than 18

    – your Google+ Profile is the manager, not the owner, of the Google+ Page

I’m not sure if any of those are applicable to you, admindroidturf?

Hey thanks! The first bullet solved the problem and now I have it working. However, for some reason when I schedule posts on WordPress nothing gets publicized (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) all don’t work. They only work when I manually publish them. Any ideas?

I’ve got the same issue, and started another topic for it.

Can you post the link to the thread?

@godthor Thanks for the extra details!

@admindroidturf Could you please start your own thread about it? That would make things easier to track down:
